- Rules implemented
- The Solar System Generation chapter
- Compared against
- mapemounde library 0.5.1, as at 9 October 2026
Differences
- Hot star option: on the Realistic column, a roll of 12 (F*) moves to the Hot Stars column on a further 1 in 6 chance. The book leaves this to the player.
- Life zone edges: calculated from blackbody distances (345 K inner, 240 K outer), not read from the Primary Solar Stats Table. They differ slightly from the printed values (G2V is 0.666–1.376 AU here, 0.66–1.34 AU in the book).
- Jump point distance: calculated from the star’s gravity (a safe limit of 0.000058 m/s²), not read from the book’s table.
- Trace gases: each trace gas on an uninhabitable world is 1D3 percent, not 1D6 ÷ 2 percent.
- Medium and small moons: sized from the book’s size ranges (100–500 and 1–100), not its dice formulas, and the result is used as a radius in kilometres.
- Asteroid belt members: generated as Dwarf Terrestrial planets, so they take that type’s day length and density.
- Satellite placement: rings take the innermost orbital slots, then moons in decreasing order of size. The book gives no placement order.
Not implemented
- Year length (orbital period).
- The Special Features and Occupancy table.
- The optional rules: eccentric orbits, axial tilt, brown dwarfs, multiple stars, variable stars, realistic planetary placement and “Water Water Everywhere”.
- Colony Creation (population and USILR codes).
